FAQs

How do I use the Streaming Plan?

With the Streaming plan, you can display any of the videos from our online library, full screen, with or without captions. Whether it’s 1:1 instruction, using a projector, or screen sharing tools, this option makes our website your personal video resource. All videos come with lesson plans that include discussion questions, quiz questions, and links to learn more.

We recommend our Streaming plan for personal and home-school learning. It’s monthly and comes with no long term commitments.

For what age groups are your videos?

As a general rule, middle school age and up. Our videos are appropriate for any age and are used by Fortune 500 companies, school districts, universities, community colleges, and schools around the world.

There are plenty of video options. How are Common Craft videos different?

Our videos are explanations in the true sense of the word. Our goal is clarity and understanding of a concept. Unlike how-to videos or tutorials, our short animated videos are focused on big ideas and context. They provide a solid foundation of concepts like technology subjects, so further details can easily "fit into place." We answer questions like “why should I care about this?” and “why does this matter?” This is a skill we’ve honed since 2007 that requires a great deal of creativity.

Are your videos available with captions?

Yes. Videos in the library come with an open-captioned version in English. And we provide the full transcript with each video.

How often do you publish new videos?

We design and create each video from scratch and typically publish about ten new videos a year.

Do you provide transcripts for videos?

Yes. Under each video in our library, there is a link “More Info + Transcript” that reveals the transcript and major points covered in the video.

What are Lesson Plans?

Lesson Plans are downloadable documents designed to help teachers use our videos in the classroom. They are starting points for further discussion of subjects. Each lesson plan includes learning objectives, discussion questions, Q and A and further reading.

What are Video Packs?

Video packs make it easier to find and use the videos in our library. Instead of navigating from video to video in the library, the packs bring related videos together and display them on a single page.

Can I make a suggestion for a future title?

Feel free to contact us with any ideas you have. We provide a place for Common Craft members to suggest and vote on video titles. Many videos in our library started as requests from our members.

Can I download or embed the videos?

No. If you would like to download or embed the files, please consider our Full Access plans. Compare plans
