Today we’re announcing a new video suggested by you, our dear members: Email Access - Explained by Common Craft
This video was based on a top-ranked suggestion for a video on “Web Based Email.” In approaching this video, we asked members for clarification about their needs for a video involving this kind of title. Based on this feedback, we decided to go in a direction that explains the role of email servers and why it makes sense that email works across devices and stays up-to-date. We think you’ll like it.
What it teaches:
Email has evolved over the years. It used to live on our computers, but it now lives on servers - and this evolution has changed how we think about email. This video highlights what these changes mean for the average email user. It teaches:
- Basic email infrastructure: servers and email boxes
- Why email is often safe, even when a computer is ruined
- The difference between POP and IMAP email
- Web-based email
- Why email is now more accessible than ever
