Evaluate Common Craft Videos with Previews

We are changing how we offer evaluations of Common Craft videos on our website. The majority of the videos in our library are now viewable as a one minute preview.

A bit of background...

Common Craft is a member-supported service. Educators and organizations join Common Craft to download or embed our videos to educate others. This support means our videos reflect the needs of members and not advertisers. Our members have always made Common Craft possible.

Over the past ten years, we’ve displayed Common Craft videos in our library with a “For Evaluation Only” watermark. This allowed anyone on the web to evaluate our videos, in full, for free.

To continue growing our library, we’ve found it necessary to move away from this evaluation model. Instead, we now display previews, where anyone can watch the first minute of a video to evaluate its look and feel. The remainder of the video is available to evaluate with a transcript, along with other information that aid in matching the video content to classroom lessons.

Sachi and I care deeply about our members and every video we produce. This change means we can continue helping educators save time by providing a robust and growing library of videos.
