I love how you explain the relationships and community of bloggers in this video. I often feel that gets ignored in favor of more technical aspects of blogging when people try to explain blogging to non-bloggers. Discussing the networking that happens through blogs is such a big part of the "why," and I think you addressed that nicely there.

I am a HUGE fan of your work, but found this one a teeny bit offensive and a whole lot archaic because "men have business blogs" and "women have mommy blogs."
As an online marketing consultant, I also wish that you had left off the references to the free blogging resources. I'm all about letting people know there are free resources available, but if I put your show on my consulting site, people are gone in a heartbeat before I've had an opportunity to explain the shortcomings of the specific platforms that you "recommend."

Woman you need to get over it. We humans are not anabas. We are humans of two sexes. Yes there are women that can do manly things and vise versa. The world is getting too politically correct and it grates my last nerve. There is enough stress in the work place and people don’t need to sweat the small stuff. If you people are leaving that quick. {...but if I put your show on my consulting site, people are gone in a heartbeat before I've had an opportunity to explain…} the reason may not be what you think.
I hurt to have to spout off like this but life is too short to sweat the small stuff. You found something to use and explain first and use it anyway. As my Mama would say, you don’t kick a gift horse in the mouth. I would tell you that you need to chill and mountains made out of molehills will shortly fall fast.
Please lady be kind. You should never ever tell someone who has products something with their blood, sweat, and tears; and hand it to you on a platter; you have the audacity to cities them. You should be kind, grateful, and appreciate your giver.
I like the presentation so please don’t change it. Making things generic will make it boring.

Hi David,
Thanks for the comment and honesty. I can see the perspective you point out. But I have to disagree that it "ain't right".
For our videos, we work to create examples that reflect commonly understood and recognized situations. For this video, the goal was to highlight some of the more common and disparate types of bloggers. "From Moms to business men to quarterbacks". These are specific examples that most would agree are very real and understandable. We never intended for gender to be an issue - they are merely examples of types of bloggers.
I don't see what "ain't right" about highlighting different types of bloggers in this way. Mommy bloggers are a popular and proud part of the blog world and, at the same time, there are a lot of men that blog about their business.
Are their Daddy bloggers? Sure. Are there female business bloggers? Of course. But we had to ask - What will make our point more clearly? We chose to deal with examples that work to make our point about the flexibility of blogs, gender aside.
If you are offended by it, I'm sorry. It was not our intention.

Thank you, Lee Lefever, for your videos! We use them as 'illustrations' in our wikiworkplace for writing exercises. At the moment we try to compose a tiny little dictionary with 2.0-lemmas ... explained to 'youngsters' in secondary school. Bt it's all still experimental.
Your videos are very clear ... We also want to discuss them: for which public are they made? What do we know already on their 2.0-themes? What would we change in their presentation.
Conclusion: you provide us with lesson materials! Thankx!
