Happy New Years To Me

As it turns out, I get to start the New Year with an almost new computer. You see, over the last days of 2004, my computer decided it couldn't face 2005 and had a complete meltdown. So it's on the way to Sony to get fixed.
Hopefully sooner rather than later, I'll get back a computer that has been wiped clean of all those things that made it want to choke. Unfortunately the good stuff will be wiped similarly.
I like to see the experience like a bit of unexpected, uh, liberation. I'll start the new year with a clean slate and hard drive to match. Almost a new computer.
Thankfully I DID backup last week, which is a lesson I've learned the hard way. I recently got an external hard drive that plugs into the home wireless router. It makes backing up too easy not to do it.
Have you backed up lately? I think you should and start the new year on a good foot. Things happen you know.
