Blog Business Summit in Seattle
By leelefever on December 12, 2004 - 12:56pm
I just signed up to attend the Blog Business Summit in Seattle on January 24th and 25th. It's great to see an event like this in my backyard and I'm looking forward to it.
The sessions seem to focus on a lot of the issues that are near and dear to me like "Corporate Blogging: Strategy and Policy". It also looks like we'll be getting Scobleized on more than one occasion, which is fine with me.

That looks like it might be worth the trip. Any recommendations on a place to stay downtown? Wireless Internet that's not Linux and Mac friendly would be a deal breaker.
Expedia's showing Red Lion, The Paramount, and Hotel Vingtage Park as the top contenders. Am I overlooking some place better?

I'd love to see you here in Seattle Travis. I don't have anything bad to say about the hotels you name. I'd add a couple of more with wireless access to the list, though it's $10/day:
The Westin
The Edgewater (recommended)
However, I've never stayed in any hotels here. :)
Here's some more info on wireless access points...

OK, that's enough for now...

That's great you plan attending and as a tip, an event hotel rate is about to be posted to the BBS 05 site. That should be up this week. Not sure on wifi there, but it's all around that part of town, including the ferries, which are the best tourist deal in town: Ride a ferry to Bainbridge and back as a walk on.

FYI that we just signed a contract at the new waterfront marriott for a reduced room rate of $149 a night for a small room block. It's just across the street from the conference facility. I took a tour there, and I liked it a lot. I am not sure if the reservation staff has been updated yet, but within 48 hours a mention of "the blog business summit" should get you the rate.
FWIW I just checked expedia, and they have the rate as $180 at the same hotel.
Hope this helps!
