I wonder sometimes about passing on links without adding anything new. There are enough link blogs in the world and I'm thinking that I need to focus more on original content.

And, of course, here I am almost 2 months later all excited about posting del.icio.us links to my blog. Does that make me a hypocrite? Sort of, I'd say.

Here's how I see it. I think that the addition of daily del.icio.us links to my blog is good for my goal of more original entries. In the past, I had a hard time finding something brilliant to say about an article that speaks for itself. With the links happening so easily, I can just bookmark them and move on without the worry of adding value. The value is in sharing the things I think are interesting with you, good reader, without me muddying the waters with blather.

Now, I can at least keep the blathering limited to things where I'm offering something somewhat original. My hope is that the daily links will actually make my original content better, or at least something that's not just another link.

What do you think abut the daily links?

That’s funny, I just went through this same exact thought exercise. I had my primary blog, but I was coming across things on a daily basis that I thought were interesting and “blog worthy” but more often than not, these links would just sit in my aggregator and by the time I got back around to them it was already old news. So I started a linkblog.

I actually thought about just using delicious like you’re doing, but I wanted something that worked a little more tightly with what I had. I’ve only been doing the linkblog for about a week now, but man, it’s really helpful. It helps me feel like I’m contributing something when I can’t really get original content up…

Daily links are good. I use spurl.net and del.icio.us to bookmark interesting sites, then port the "business" tag over into the sidebar of Slacker Manager. Good stuff.

Keep on keepin' on...

I'm hip to the whole "sharing" notion when it comes to linkblogs. I do it, too, for exactly that reason. Sharing is good, at least, that's what they taught us in kindergarten.

i think the editorial discretion you exercise when you choose what to link to is the value add. kk+

Very cool folks. I'm digging the links too and it's good to hear some encouraging words.

You may also want to consider using Simpy - http://simpy.com for your daily links. It offers 4 different feed types for your links, which can be handy.

The daily links are good, particularly with the brief bit of text letting people know what the link is about. Another line or two of you saying, "Gee I thought this was worth reading because..." would be less interesting, and I don't miss it.

Save your energy for the postings where you have something you really want to get across.

del.icio.us is so cool because it allows you to see what other people have found useful. It's a pointing tool.

I would be (and have been) hesitant to put my links in my daily feed, simply because I bookmark so many things for so many different reasons.

Now, eventually, someone is going to make (and I've been pondering the idea) a Google-esque tool that takes a BUNCH of link blogs and returns the top % "pageranked" links to you every day; so you can have a personalized link zeitgeist. Have you checked out http://populicio.us/newlinks.html ? It's like staring into the future, man.
